an island journey set to original music

This original composition for symphony orchestra evokes the experience of ascending a fictional, endangered tropical island from sea to summit.

It accompanies a sequence of snapshots cropped from my various worldviews depicting idealized and imagined islands and mountains. About 13 minutes long, the piece is essentially a theme-and-variations based on two melodies that alternate and overlay.

(Use good speakers/headphones if you can! And make sure you start with the volume way up—the sound begins very slow and soft with the first slide, and builds steadily from there.)
